Melissa Tanaka

Operations Manager

Melissa Tanaka has been in the insurance industry for almost 16 years. She spent 13 years working for the local District Office as the General Manager overseeing the day-to-day operations. She previously owned her own agency in San Diego for 4 years. Melissa joined KMIA in August of 2018 and is our Operations manager. She specializes in custom accounts, life insurance and benefits. Melissa is originally from Orange County and has been in California her whole life. She enjoys spending time with her daughter outdoors, baking and dance parties.

Susana Morales

Operations

Susana Morales who is also known as Susy, is a San Diego native with over 9 years of experience in management and social media marketing. Susy’s background in hospitality offers our clients exceptional service. She also brings to the table her expertise in graphic design and 5 years of administrative work. Susy’s hobbies include leading a dance crew organization, playing competitive indoor soccer, and creating art through graphic design.

Brian Kalmenson

Producer

Brian Kalmenson joined Farmers in 2010 and has assisted in overseeing the agency’s continued dedication and growth to the community association industry. Prior to joining the agency, Brian was an award-winning community association manager with one of San Diego’s largest management firms. As a Commercial Insurance Specialist, Brian helps existing and prospective clients secure market-leading protections at negotiated rates. His biggest focus is educating owners, board members and community managers alike in coverage as well as the best practices in all thing’s insurance. Brian is an active participant in CAI and CACM, having served as a board member for CAI-San Diego and has spoken at many industry educational events. Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, and is also trying to improve his golf game from “embarrassing” to just “slightly less embarrassing”.

Bridgette Tabor

Bridgette Tabor has been a licensed agent for 17 years. She started her insurance career in group health benefits. Prior to becoming an insurance agent, she spent 20 years working for several large long-standing law practices in San Diego in the areas of construction defect litigation and employment matters. She now specializes in property and casualty insurance with a focus in common interest developments and the construction industry.

Bridgette enjoys the intricacies and challenges of community associations. She commits her time to supporting her clients though custom education programs designed to demystify insurance coverages and endorsements. This training also covers important loss control recommendations, coverage gaps, business owner policy exclusions, and handling water loss claims. Bridgette also regularly conducts seminars for small business owners on topics such as workers compensation, FMLA, and issuance of proper notification and filing of necessary paperwork. Bridgette loves to golf, meditate and sing karaoke.

Robert Gonzalez

Robert Gonzalez resides in Northern California’s Bay Area. Prior to joining the team, he managed a portfolio of homeowner’s associations and maintains his CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations) Certification to stay connected to current CID laws and what our clients’ experience; to better support HOA Managers. He strives to offer resources and education to make sure complete coverage from the common area to the unit interior finishes. Robert is growing his culinary skills and is an avid reader who travels as often as he can.

Kristen Melton

Commercial Insurance Specialist

Kristen Melton is a Certificate Specialist for both the Commercial and HOA Departments. Having worked in the customer service industry for the last 8 years, she uses her knowledge and experience to help our clients with their insurance needs. Kristen looks forward to her future here at KMIA, getting to know our clients and helping assist them in any way. Kristen likes to spend her time reading, running, traveling and tasting new foods from around the world.

Rachel Dias

Account Executive

Rachel Dias has been in the insurance industry since 2003. She specializes in the towing and recovery industry but has worked on every type of business account you could imagine. Rachel has been on the board of the Arizona Professional Towing and Recovery Association since 2017 and is excited to bring forth her expertise to our Commercial department. Rachel enjoys spending time with her dog, hiking and enjoying the outdoors.

Ross Demner

Account Executive

Ross Demner has been with Farmers since 2007. After spending nearly 14 years working on the claims side of insurance, he decided to make the switch to join the successful and growing Commercial team at KMIA where he joined in 2021. Ross looks forward to speaking with you and figuring out the insurance needs for you and your business. Ross is a San Diego native that loves sports, travelling, cooking and spending time with his family.

Monica Vongphosy

HOA Insurance Specialist

Monica Vongphosy started her career in insurance this year after working in retail services and community outreach for 6 years. She’s planning on transferring her customer service and planning skills to become an integral pillar of support to the HOA department. She looks forward to learning the different facets of KMIA and her own professional development. Monica loves eating, Bay Area sports teams, event planning, and traveling.

Stephen Campbell Goodman

HOA Insurance Specialist

Steven Campbell-Goodman has been working in the insurance industry since 2018. He began his insurance career as a claims representative in travel insurance. Steven began with KMIA early this year in the commercial department and he looks forward to expanding his professional capabilities within the agency. Steven enjoys cooking, baking, gardening, and exploring San Diego.

Francisco Ibarra

Senior Account Manager

Francisco Ibarra has been in insurance for about 18 years in the standard and non-standard side of the industry. He takes pride in providing the best customer service. His motto, “Insurance is something that should be explained to everyone in simple words and in detail” is one he lives by in his career. As an immigrant, he understands the struggles of language and the necessary care needed to protect our clients. Such as, the importance of insurance to avoid any financial disasters.

Francisco has been in the San Diego area for two years and is grateful to have the opportunity to give back to his community by helping with his expertise in both languages; English and Spanish. His hobbies include playing golf, photography, motorcycles, going to the beach and spending as much time possible with loved ones.

Jennifer Hotchkiss

Jennifer Hotchkiss began her journey in the industry of insurance and joined our agency in the fall of 2020. As a personal lines representative, Jennifer utilizes her extensive customer service background to passionately help our clients navigate their insurance needs. Her priority is educating clients to ensure their risks are thoroughly identified and adequately covered. A native Michigander, Jennifer has lived in San Diego for 21 years. She enjoys travel, live music, golf, reading, exploring San Diego and more than anything, she loves spending time with her family.

John Corlett was born and raised in San Diego and has spent his entire career focusing on customer service. Only recently, John began his insurance journey and enjoys all the intricacies and details involved. It offers John the opportunity to use his years of experience in customer service. During John’s time off, he enjoys spending time with his family, off roading, camping in remote areas, surfing with his daughter and playing softball on Sunday’s.

Maha Mero has been with Farmers for 25 years and is a Personal Lines and Life Specialist. She speaks three Languages: English, Arabic and Chaldean. Maha is passionate about her career and loves to help people. She always goes the extra mile for every one of our clients.
